Lynne's dad

My dear dad (89) is now showing signs of dementia and his GP has just referred him to a memory clinic. This morning I have taken him to a 'Live at Home' Scheme in Leeds (a Friday luncheon group supported by the MHA and designed to help elder people feel less isolated) for the very first time. Dad and I are on a steep learning curve. He felt like he was going to a new school for the first time and I felt like the nervous parent. (This is the man who has guided and encouraged me all my life!) I hope he will be OK.... all advice and support gratefully received. I'll keep you posted. Lynne
