The 16th Annual Grange Conference

An Introduction...

Following the success of last year’s Annual Grange Conference, the Education and Training Network is thrilled to be managing this year’s event to an even wider audience. The conference has developed an almost iconic status amongst medico-legal experts, welcoming many of the country’s foremost experts in their fields.

With the event panned across a 4 day period, you may attend all or as many days as you wish. Guests have the freedom also to stroll leisurely through the 700 year old historic attraction playing host to the event, the Ripley Castle. The castle is located within the perfect Yorkshire setting, the quintessential Ripley Village. Too add to the growing success of the conference we have introduced additional accommodation options in the famous spa town of Harrogate, The White Hart Hotel and the notable cathedral city of Ripon, The Old Deanery.

The topics running throughout the conference have been chosen carefully to address both the needs of the expert witness and also the controversial issues of the day. The tradition of the conference is carried forward by the Grange Conference Directors led by, Professor Keith Rix. Following in the tradition of the Grange Conference by inviting a member of the Surpreme Court, this year’s supreme court lecturer will be delivered by the Right Honourable Lord Hodge QC who is one of the two Scottish Justices of the Supreme Court - not to be missed!

A black-tie dinner will take place on the Wednesday evening hosted within the idyllic walls of the castle’s luxurious library. The candlelit dinner will be served in the perfect setting, socialising with fellow Grange Conference attendees, colleagues and friends.

The conference is suitable for any mental health professional with an interest in medico-legal work. The CPD points awarded for this conference will be in line with the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ guidelines and subject to your peer group approval. Whether you are an established expert or new to the field, we look forward to welcoming you to Yorkshire for the medico-legal event of the year for mental health professionals.
