  • Critically evaluate and improve your expert court reports so that they are clear and effective
  • Strategically prepare for attending court as a witness
  • Analyse and improve your own presentation under cross-examination 

Course Content


Day One: Report Writing

The legal system, the expert's duty, accountability and liability, comparing and contrasting expert witness obligations in family and criminal cases.

Report writing - compliance, structures, templates and critiques 

Day Two: Courtroom Skills

Practices and procedures in court, differences for witness evidence in criminal and family courts.

Preparing for court, cross examination, getting your message across, do's and don'ts. 

Mock court room practice.
