This course will provided you with an update into the latest prescribing guideline in general adult psychiatry and considers NICE and other guidelines, new research and future trends in prescribing.

A range of topics will be explored including:

  • ADHD in Adults
  • Mood Disorders
  • Acute Disturbance


This course will enable you to:

  • Increase your knowledge and awareness of current national and international prescribing guidelines, including NICE
  • Learn strategies for managing treatment resistance in a range of diagnoses
  • Develop your understanding of the legislation surrounding off-label or un-licenced prescribing
  • Understand the appropriate cautions you should excersise when prescribing in specific situations including physical health diagnosis, substance misuse and pregnacy
  • Learn about prescribing in sleep disorders, adult ADHD and acute disturbance
  • Have a greater appreciation for the future direction of prescribing in general adult psychiatry
